Orientation

Orientations are offered twice per month at the CHT office and at additional times in South Sarasota County, usually at the Venice Chamber of Commerce or North Port City Hall.  Orientations provide people with the details regarding how to become a successful homebuyer.  It helps potential homebuyers overcome the common feelings of confusion and helplessness when facing the complexities of buying a home.  Individuals who complete the Orientation will leave knowing how to overcome common home buying obstacles.

After attending an Orientation a person can complete a home buyer readiness assessment. The assessment determines how much house a person qualifies to purchase, what loan programs they are eligible for and whether there are any credit issues that need to be resolved. To have an assessment completed, individuals attending an Orientation session should bring:

1. *Most recent pay stubs to cover one month
2. * A recent credit report (including credit scores) or $9.26 for individual or $18.52 for joint credit report fee (cash or check)
3. Most recent Federal Income Tax returns with W-2(s).

*CHT assumes no responsibility for original documents, if submitted and Returned check fee is $25.00, respectively.
